The problem with nostalgia is it’s lack of honesty. Whether positive or negative, we selectively remember times gone by.
You keep reliving that glorious season from Senior Year? Spending a lot of time wistfully thinking about “the one who got away”?
When we pick and choose what to remember and pine after, we short change ourselves. We deserve to think of the past with happiness and it is good to acknowledge regrets.
However, spending so much time in the past prevents us from acting in the present.
We can’t do anything about then. All we have is now.
