I eat a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich several days a week. I can imagine a young line worker, trying to impress their boss, taking extra care to get that Sausage McGriddle right. I can also imagine that supervisor telling that young employee they need to step it up and get food out the window faster.
We all want to do a good job. We’re not slackers and we would hate to be told we weren’t giving it our all.
But, most of the time “The Best” is not what is required. In fact, doing “the Best” takes more time than the result is worth.
A lot of the tome what is needed is something “good enough.” Not crappy. Not shoddy. But just good enough.
With very few exceptions I believe that good enough is better than best.
